Ascendancy is a 1995 4X space game from The Logic Factory (who at this point seem defunct, sadly). What helped Ascendancy stand out above other 4Xs of its day (and heck, even today) are its truly alien races, its real-time gameplay and its fantastic music.
Concept
Take control of one of nearly two-dozen races and lead them to victory, whether via diplomacy, expansion or extermination.
