SGJ Podcast #250 – The Double-Edged Sword of Early Access

Good Idea? Bad Idea?

Welcome to this week’s podcast, my friends! This week, Jim, Hunter, Spaz and I talk about the good and bad that is the current early access model. While early access via closed alphas and betas has been a thing for quite some time, the early access model pioneered by Steam has proven to be both a help and a hindrance to gamers and developers alike. We talk about games we feel weathered the storm well, games that sunk for whatever reason, and what needs to change to make the current system better because right now, it has a lot of issues.

Next week on the show, we’re gonna talk about dreaded DLC, lootcrates and more! As always, if you have a question or suggestion, you can drop it below, email us at hail@spacegamejunkie.com or hit us up on the forums.
