Friends, I’ll tell ya what: sometimes, even after gaming for four decades, gaming can surprise you. Last week, when I wrote my check-in, I was fully prepared to spend much of my non-working gaming time playing Lord of the Rings Online. I mean I did play a decent amount of LOTRO, but then something happened.
The folks at NeoCore games released a massive new patch for their Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor games.
Now, I love, love, love the Inquisitor games. I’ve got over 80 hours in it, which is a LOT for me. But after hitting a wall in a story mission, I uninstalled it, needing a break. Now, however, I am BACK, and I was able to pass that mission too. This coupled with new weekly rewards and buffs gives me further reason to keep playing.
This got me onto the thought of post-release support. While NeoCore is doing a great job, there are others also doing a great job such as the Trese brothers, who just keep releasing patch after patch for Star Traders: Frontiers, including some pretty massive ones as well.
It’s always such a treat to see a game continue to be released after it hits 1.0, especially if it’s free content. Expansions and other DLC are also awesome too of course. It’ll keep me coming back over and over again, let me tell ya. What are some of your favorite devs that continually support their games?
That’s it for me this week. What are y’all playing? Have a great one!
